If anyone's still following this (and I don't know why you would be...) I've created a new blog... so please latch on to that one and not this, as it will probably be deleted sometime in the future.

Tuesday 8 May 2012

Update on the Ogre thingy, doesn't look like much of an improvement but I've gone over the skin with a texture brush. Hopefully it'll just give it that little bit more realism.

Sunday 6 May 2012

He's beginning to look like the Hulk's homeless cousin...

Thinking of adding more to the concept...

Thursday 3 May 2012

I'm thinking business cards... Anything you think I could do to improve it?

So here's the "finished" picture. there's not much difference from the last one I uploaded, it just has a pinky soft light on it. I thought it made it looks more appealing...

Sunday 29 April 2012

Yet another thing I've spent too much time doodling whilst I should be doing Uni work...

Nearly there... Just a couple more things to do and I can call it done.

Done a little more work and added a little colour. Not half bad even if I do say so myself...

Friday 27 April 2012

No internet at home at the moment so Here's what I've done on the concept piece over the past couple of hours. She has a head now... which is good.

Monday 23 April 2012

I made an Oven. Hurr hurr...

Two down, one to go... maybe I can leave it till the morning, I've unwrapped it. That's cause for a break.

Sunday 22 April 2012

This one's just a doodle I did during a live webcast drawing session.

Saturday 21 April 2012

Got to get these weapons done by Monday... it's a longshot but I reckon doable. Just slapping some textures on and moving on to the next one for now.

Thursday 19 April 2012

Think I just need to populate the counter top with some brick-a-brack and I should be done...

Some plates added and some vintage wallpaper to give it a bit more...Oomf?

Sunday 15 April 2012

Just a couple of little doodles to pass the time...

Friday 13 April 2012

That's probably enough for tonight. Time to chill before bed.

Added some candles and a little cabinet. Now what else can I add?...

Re-arranging the room and made a little chair to go by the drawers. Trying to think of some easy stuff to make to add to this... might put in a plant or some fruit in that bowl...

Tuesday 10 April 2012

A little play around in Mudbox ended up looking like a caricature of my Dad

Sunday 8 April 2012

I've said it before. A bit of colour can do wonders for a picture.

Friday 6 April 2012

well that took longer than expected... but, at least I've got the arms done now.

Not looking forward to the forearm. Going to be so damn complex...

It's coming along...

Thursday 5 April 2012

Decided to give her a robot arm for funsies. Hopefully it'll look pretty funky.

It's coming along... Time for a break I think before my wrist freezes up.

Always a bloody marathon when doing stuff this detailed...it's gonna take more than a few days to finish this baby.

Strangely proud of my little metally bits here... just hope I can get the rest up the that standard.

Wednesday 4 April 2012

Today's project... some sort of future electro soldier woman... I don't really think ahead with these things...

So last night when I should have been sleeping a friend asked me for a cupcake girl to use in her foodie blog...

Sunday 1 April 2012

bit of practice, playing around with some different brushes.

Saturday 31 March 2012

amazing what a little bit of colour can do for a drawing...

A little something I've been playing with today, practising perspective on non-boxy objects... far from finished, I'll do more on it tomorrow.

Monday 26 March 2012

Today's venture, an attempt at realism. Which I'm pretty happy with, the don't look "real" yet but I'm sure with some practice I could get them looking awesome.

Friday 23 March 2012

For one of my production pieces I'm doing a creature/monster concept art piece, I'm undecided as of yet to what I'm going to finish, but for now I've worked on a couple of little designs (above). I'm more tempted to use the lower one though as it seems to me to be more original than the first.
Spent pretty much all last week colouring/shading this drawing for my "Ultimate Image" assignment. I'm pretty happy with it although I would have liked to make a few changes. Unfortunately though I saved over the PSD file and lost access to the layers, which means I can't go in and edit some pieces I wanted to. I may go in sometime in the future and add a few items and put some more shadows in, but the deadline has passed so this is the copy I've submitted.

Sunday 4 March 2012

Started playing around with concepts the other day and came up with this. It was a great learning experience to research into all the muscles and work out the deformations for his arms, very much worth doing especially if looking into creating an animatable character.

Yesterday I finally got the okay on the angel. He's now been given to the animator to be brought to life and I can't wait to see how it looks. In other news, I got started on some weapons for the now called "Night of Fire" cinematic. pretty simple shaped, extruded splines and cylinders so they didn't take more than an hour each, just waiting on some feedback and then I can get to work texturing them, fun times ahead.

Monday 27 February 2012

Today I've been working some more into the Angel. Taking parts of the model into Mudbox and sculpting some more detail in them, though I spent many hours today trying to figure out normal maps. But, after several tries and re-sculpting a couple of times, I managed to get the map working in max... sort of. Here it is in Mudbox (Top) and then later in Max (Bottom) after I'd put on a little shiny material to give it a little something extra.

Monday 20 February 2012

Made a series of little changes (wing size, belt addition, armour modification and shawl) to the angel. Let's hope this one passes the judgement of the director as I don't really want to change it any more... time to get on to another project as I'm already a few weeks behind...
